Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Crema Music app, developed by CREMASOFT, handles user data. Crema Music is a music player for Android that plays the music on your Plex servers. CREMASOFT has no servers of its own for the app: none of your data reaches CREMASOFT.

1. Information CREMASOFT collects

None. Crema Music sends no data to CREMASOFT or to any third party other than Plex. In particular, the app does not collect:

• Usage analytics, statistics or crash reports.
• Advertising identifiers.
• Location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
• Your Plex password: you never type it into the app and it never passes through it.

2. Signing in with Plex

You need a Plex account to use Crema Music. You sign in on Plex's own website (in your browser) or by entering a code at plex.tv/link from another device. Plex then gives the app an access token, which is stored encrypted on your device with a key from Android's secure storage (Android Keystore). That token is only sent to Plex and to your Plex servers, and it is never written to logs or to web addresses that leave the app.

3. Data exchanged with Plex

The app only communicates with Plex's services (plex.tv) and with the Plex servers you have access to (your own or ones shared with you). To work, it sends:

• A random identifier for this installation, the product name and app version, and the device model and name, so that Plex can list this app among your devices.
• Requests to browse, search and play your library, and to download music and artwork.
• Playback state (which song is playing, whether it is paused and its position) and the songs you play. Your server uses them for your history, "Recently played" and the playback statistics the server owner sees.

This data is handled by Plex, Inc. and by the owner of each server under Plex's privacy policy. Crema Music is not affiliated with Plex, Inc.; Plex is a trademark of Plex, Inc.

4. Data stored on your device

To be fast and to work offline, the app stores on your device:

• A copy of your music library (artists, albums, songs and artwork).
• The play queue, recent searches and your settings.
• An audio cache and the songs you download to listen offline.

This data is not sent anywhere, and it is not included in Android backups or in data transfers to a new phone. You can delete downloads from the app's settings, and everything else by clearing the app's data in Android's settings or by uninstalling it.

5. Device permissions

• Internet and network state: to connect to Plex and to know whether you are on Wi‑Fi or mobile data (audio quality, and Wi‑Fi‑only downloads).
• Foreground services and keeping the device awake: to keep playing with the screen off and to finish downloads.
• Run at startup: to resume pending downloads after the device restarts.

Crema Music works with Android Auto, lock-screen controls and Bluetooth headphones. For this it shares with the system, within the device itself, the title, artist and artwork of what is playing, without the Plex token or your server's address.

6. Advertising and purchases

Crema Music shows no ads and includes no analytics, tracking or monetization SDKs. It does not currently offer in-app purchases. If it ever did, they would be handled through Google Play, and CREMASOFT would not receive your payment details.

7. Children

Crema Music requires a Plex account, which is subject to Plex's age requirements. The app collects no data that could identify children or any other user.

8. Security

The access token is stored encrypted. Connections to plex.tv always use HTTPS. With your server, the app prefers HTTPS; on your local network it may use HTTP if the secure connection does not respond (for example, because your router blocks plex.direct addresses) or if the server does not offer HTTPS. We still recommend keeping your device protected with the usual measures (screen lock, up-to-date system, etc.).

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated in the future, for example if features are added that involve handling data. Any relevant change will be published on this page with a new update date.
